Sydney Satnowski

Hi, I’m Sydney! I was born and raised in SW Portland, and am now settled just 30 minutes away with my husband and two children. Working with children and families has always been my passion. After experiencing the joys and challenges of entering parenthood myself, I felt a strong calling to provide the compassionate support and care that all parents deserve.

I see women as powerful and resilient, and I am driven to help you experience strength, joy, and confidence in pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I believe that every parent deserves to feel confident and capable in their choices – free from external pressure, comparison or self-doubt. You know your body and your baby best. I am also extremely passionate about mental health, so my goal as your doula is to foster mental wellness for the whole family and nurture a strong attachment between you and your baby while supporting your unique needs. I believe that self-care, connection with loved ones, and access to any needed resources are vital for a smooth transition into parenthood.

Whether you’re looking for guidance with newborn care, navigating emotional shifts, or simply needing a moment to yourself, I’ve got your back and I’m here to walk beside you.

Outside of doula work, I love singing, art, gardening, eating delicious food and going on outings and adventures with my family. I can’t wait to connect with you!

Testimonials

“Sydney really helped me make the transition from one child to two. Her presence gave me a much needed break so I could take care of myself. Having another human with knowledge of children and being able to answer the questions I had. Even though I’ve done this before, it’s really hard to remember what infants are like until you’re in the thick of it. I liked being able to ask someone if this is normal and being given resources for help was so beneficial and we really loved having Sydney support our family.” – Kate

“I would highly recommend Sydney. She was communicative, clear, flexible, and accommodating. She was really conscientious and hardworking. Sydney was great at making suggestions and offering to complete light housework that, in the end, made a world of a difference for someone in the middle of post-partum chaos. Sydney was really helpful with baby support and breast feeding. She provided great suggestions without being too pushy and also offered a handful of applicable resources.” – Stefanie
