Natalie Broders
Hi, I’m Natalie! Here’s a little bit about me: Both my babies were born with midwives – one at a birth center, and one at home. When I say I understand what kind of birth you want, you should know that I really get it. We live on a small farm where we raise chickens, goats, and grow our own food. I love babywearing, cloth diapering, and I’m pretty sure there’s nothing a little breastmilk can’t fix!
Because I had two unmedicated births, one of my specialities is supporting people through unmedicated labor.
Something that makes me different is that I strongly believe my role as a doula is to advocate for you. When interviewing doulas, ask them directly if they will speak up on your behalf. I believe that when someone is deep in labor, they’re in an altered state of consciousness. It’s my job to protect the space, hold them in that altered state, and avoid drawing them out of the cosmos into their thinking brain. I will advocate for you and I will speak up for you when you’re off in labor land. In order to do it well, I spend time getting to know you prenatally, learning your preferences, understanding which parts of your birth are flexible and which parts you feel really passionate about. I will empower you with the tools to say “no, thank you” and “can we have 5 minutes to discuss privately?” so that YOU hold the power – not me, and not a provider. But if you can’t speak, I’ll be your voice.
From how to prepare before birth, to common interventions, navigating hospital birth, choosing the right birth center, and having a home birth, I’m your new BFF & walking birth encyclopedia. At your birth, I offer physical, emotional and verbal support. My goal is to empower you to make the decision that’s best for you, based on the evidence and your own intuition, so you have the birth you’ve been dreaming of.
For me, birthwork is an all-consuming passion and my greatest source of joy. I’ve always known that what I do should have a deeper purpose, feel sacred, and connected to a higher pursuit. I’m driven by this fire that’s alive inside of me for birth work; this is something I was born to do.
In addition to my work as a Labor & Birth Doula, I’m also an International Award Winning Birth Photographer, Postpartum Doula, and Childbirth Educator.
My values:
✓ You feel respected
✓ You feel safe
✓ You understand your options
✓ YOU make the choices about your birth (no one has authority over you)
I only take a limited number of births each month. To reserve your due date with me, fill out the contact form and include my name so we can set up a phone or Zoom interview. Talk soon!

Testimonials
“Natalie is truly an earth angel. I don’t trust easily, so after a year of following her online, I knew she was the only doula I would want to work with. Even if I hadn’t been familiar with her work, her model of care provided a lot of opportunity to get to know each other ahead of the birth, and I felt totally connected, comfortable, and confident in our relationship. Natalie was there for me in labor as soon as I needed her. She came straight over to my house and immediately provided so much support. Position changes and spinning babies techniques, counter pressure and hip squeezes, verbal encouragement and affirmation. Plus the care that feel intimate when you’re in need, like tying up my long hair, feeding me honey, wrapping me in a towel after the birth tub, holding my hand during sutures, bringing a tray of snacks to the bed… she’s truly incredible. Feeling supported and cared for allowed me to stay in my process and feel safe throughout labor. Natalie’s presence, her trust in birth and my body, and knowing I wasn’t alone to cope, was a big part in my successful home birth. I’m forever grateful for her!” – Amy Family
“I am a midwife, and I have personal experience with most of the doulas in our area through my work. I chose to work with Natalie for the birth of my first baby because I respect her wisdom and knowledge as well as her professionalism. I knew Natalie would be thorough, thoughtful, encouraging, and allow me to fully embrace the role of ‘mother’ rather than the role of ‘midwife’ in my own birthing journey. My husband and I felt so ease at ease with Natalie and so grateful to have her care and presence during my birth. I knew she would be perfect for me, and she did not disappoint. My birth would never have been what it was without Natalie, and I am so grateful I had the insider knowledge to hire her. Now do yourself a favor and do the same!” – McClure Family
“I had Natalie as My Doula with both my children I just love her, I honestly see her as family. Natalie makes you feel so comfortable, She makes sure that she’s doing everything in her power to be there for you, support you and, advocate for you when needed and she does an amazing job at it. On top of all that, Natalie does a beautiful job photographing and capturing all the best moments and really showing your story in those photos. I wouldn’t ask for anybody else to be my Doula and photographer. Natalie is the best.” – Sharp Family
“Amazing doula, she went above and beyond for my wife and I. She’s very gentle and welcoming, and it’s obvious that she really cares. She makes sure you’re well informed and supports you every step of the way, especially when things get challenging. A great human being! You’re in good hands if she’s your doula/photographer.” – Derk Family
