Megan McGinnis
Megan McGinnis
Hi, I’m Megan! I am a birth and postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families through one of life’s most transformative experiences. With a background in education, child development, and business leadership, I bring a unique blend of knowledge, compassion, and organizational
expertise to my work.
My passion lies in postpartum care—nurturing both parents and newborns during the delicate transition into life as a growing family. As the oldest of five children, I have taken on the role of caretaker for as long as I can remember, which has deeply shaped my ability to support others
with patience and empathy. I am known for my calm presence and ability to create a soothing environment for both parents and newborns. I believe every family is unique, and my goal is to help parents discover what works best for them and their baby, providing encouragement and reassurance along the way.
My work is also deeply rooted in equity and inclusivity. During my time with Portland Public Schools, I participated in extensive equity work, which continues to shape how I show up as a doula. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space for all families, honoring their diverse backgrounds, identities, and parenting choices.
Currently working toward my DONA certification as a birth and postpartum doula, I am committed to continuous learning and evidence-based care. My approach is warm, inclusive, and personalized to meet the unique needs of each family I serve.
When I’m not supporting families, you can find me making memories with my own children, reading, embroidering, or spending time outside in nature. I also love staying active, coaching youth sports, and participating/training for triathlons. I would love to connect and support you on your journey into parenthood.

Testimonials
“Working a demanding job, I didn’t have a ton of time to prep for what was to come during my pregnancy. So much of learning how to be a mom, I did alongside my baby’s first few months of life, and it was so intimidating. I’m not sure I would be in the place I am now with our four month old if it weren’t for working with Megan as our postpartum doula.
“It was amazing having a trusted resource to get on-demand guidance from when our daughter was experiencing something new or foreign to us. Anything from sleep/nap struggles, wake windows, how to play, tummy time, combo feeding or anything else that came our way, Megan was an amazing resource for our family.
“Megan also helped us create time for ourselves. She took the pressure off me so I could exercise and start to feel myself again and also helped us with meal prepping healthy dinners that gave us time back for each other, keeping us nourished so we could be the best parents we could be while also fueling our relationship (as much as possible with a newborn!).
“I’m beyond grateful for her help and support and would recommend her to anyone that is about to jump into parenting, or is running it back and adding to their growing family!” – Postpartum Mama
